Rendering Particles in Houdini with Octane

Hey guys,

I have been trying to figure out how to render particles with Octane in Houdini, and everything works with colors and stuff, except I get this message from the Houdini console on every frame when I press play, after applying my material and ticking off the "render as sphere particles"?

"*** OCTANE API MSG: Trying to fetch array from attribute with incorrect type."

Anybody else experienced this and maybe have a solution? All I do is drag and drop a basic shader from an octane network and onto the particles, like I would with a piece of geometry, and it even changes color and accepts the shader - but as soon as I open my IPR, the Houdini Console gives me this warning on every frame. Any idea how to avoid this?

Have a great day,

Casper

Hey Casmic,
I was just wondering if you managed to get particles to render with color without using an instance sop ? If I want to use the "render particles as spheres" option I can't seem to get the Cd attrib to load. How are you doing it?

Thanks
Mats

Hi Casmic

I have the exact same problem. Did you manage to sort it out?
