My friend had Archicad and would like to send me a file to render but she says that its not possible to export OBJ file. is this true and if it is what is the best way to get her design onto Octane

NOT true, she/you can EXPORT OBJ form ArchiCad just fine.

Hi,

If the direct export from ArchiCAD to OBJ (using save as obj) does not generate a correct (uv-mapped) obj file, the you can use an alternative by saving the scene to sketchup and then in Sketchup use the octanerender exporter.
I use this step with good results.
(The exporter you can find somewhere in the Sketchup section of this forum)
