C4D Black Render Screen

I have been on this thread trying to figure things out on my own. I can't seem to figure out how to solve this. Im attaching a screenshot of what my render view looks like.
I have the stand alone, i have the plugin. I tried the environment trick (making sure the environment is not black) i'm using the latest driver, i also tried the scene files.
I'm on a mackbook pro 15in using c4d R16. Render viewer continues to stay black
