Rhino 5 to Octane Texture Mapping Issue

Hello All,

Just bought my license of Octane yesterday, really excited to see what it can do.

I'm having an issue where my uv mapping from rhino isn't being imported properly into Octane. I did a simple test to see if the OBJ file would work in Maya and it did. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Vanhage,

Can you please an attachment of the .obj, .mtl and texture file.
Also a screen shot of your file->preferences->Obj mesh Import settings

Thanks
Chris.

Solved.

I made a diffuse material with the diffuse color set to a checksmix node and apparently the checksmix node overrides the texture coordinates. When I eliminate the checksmix and use an image of a checker map instead it appears normal.

Thanks for your reply Chris!

Hi vanhage,

Ok, good to see it's sorted.
I did also notice some artifacts in your image that are most likely due to incorrect scale (check around on the forms for how to deal with this or reply here if you can't find anything).

Thanks
Chris.
