Demo version in Maya error: No CUDA devices found

Hello

I've been asked to download Octane to test before deciding whether to purchase it for use with Maya. I can see my GPU in the Render Settings but when I try to select it or do a render I am getting a Warning:
//Warning: Octane: No CUDA devices found to render on.

I have tried to search for the issue online and followed advice I have found for the issue with other software but I'm still getting the same error. I also downloaded the Standalone Octane Demo which renders fine with my GPU.

Here are the details of what I'm running and I would love it if anyone could give me any more things to try to fix this please. If you need any more information please let me know.

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 with latest Studio Drivers (Version 462.65)
Maya 2020.1 (Educational Version as I'm a lecturer so could this be an issue?)

Thank you so much, Holly

Same problem here. Standalone works fine but Maya just hangs and kicks out message:
"No CUDA devices found to render on"

MAYA 2020
WIN10 PRO
AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 3.40 GHz
128 GB RAM
DUAL RTX 3090s - DRIVER VER 465.89

BUT! Tried on my laptop w RTX 2070 and Maya plugin works fine.

MAYA 2020
WIN10 PRO
i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz
64.0 GB RAM
RTX 2070 MAX P - DRIVER VER 465.89

Maybe an issue with Maya + 30 series?

Hi,
try tio download and install 2020.2.4 Standalone.

You can find it by visiting your personal Downloads area:
https://render.otoy.com/account/download_archive.php

At first start, you will be asked to press the Download button, to automatically install a new cuDNN library to run 2020.2.3/4 versions correctly:

I can only access the OctaneRender_Demo_2020_2_win.exe on the main page. Is this the correct one? This is the one I've already tested.

If I follow your link I get "Your account is not licensed for any OctaneRender products."

I can't buy the product if the demo won't work on my main workstation, so a I'm stuck.

Hi,
try with Standalone 2020.2.4 demo:
https://render.otoy.com/downloads/a/297 ... _4_win.exe

Alternatively, try to download and run OctaneBench 2020.2.3, and share a complete screenshot of the result, thanks:

Same results, Maya Plugin does not render "No CUDA devices found"

Standalone versions work fine.

Bench works (image linked) https://ibb.co/BzvgxhH

Hi there,

It sounds like the GPU needs to be enabled.
Please open Maya's Render Setting dialog>GPU Devices> Enable the 2070 GPU, Tonemapping, and denoiser the do a test render.

Note: Octane for Maya plugin also need to create Octane Environment, Kernels manually from the Octane tab.

Hope you find this helpful!!

Cheers

2070 GPU works, the Dual 3090s do not work with Maya plugin (though standalone does work on 3090 machine), GPUS are enabled, kernel is created, light and shaders set. "No CUDA devices found" every time.

Hi moonFinger,

Thank you.. if OctaneRender Standalone is working then Octane for Maya should work.
Can you please share a screenshot of the GPU devices tab?

Also, please send us an email([email protected]) to our support as we might need to run our system tool to investigate?
