Shadow Catcher issues in C4D

I was working on a project in C4D and octane were I'm composting a model onto some footage, I ran into an issue with shadow catcher materials. They would block out everything behind them even tho I just wanted them to add the shadow alpha to the scene.

I set up an example scene to illustrate this
ShadowCapture issue.png

the shadow catcher floor blocks out both the area light and the larger square.

How can I have the shadow suspended without affecting anything in the scene behind the catcher?
Any help is appreciated. :D

Hi,
don’t use the Shadow catcher option in Diffuse material, and use the Render Layer technique instead:
