Quick Start Guide for Novice

Is there a quick start guide for novices for the standalone demo version? I've created a few Nodes in the Nodegraph editor but I cannot connect any of them together and while I've been able to change the background color, I seem stuck not being able to connect nodes or create anything interesting in the viewport.
