Export hair for octane render

Hi, I was wondering how I can export hair from a given 3d package to octane render. Lets say I want to use maya and export xgen hair. In other packages like Katana and Clarisse curves and be imported as alembic and the renderer can render these as hair primitives. Is there an option for that in octane render? So far I'm only aware that octane can load obj files but that format obviously doesn't support curve primitives.
Obviously there are plugins for maya, C4D, etc... but I'm only using the standalone of octane render and would like to find a way to feed octane with hair directly via a geometry loader or something like that.

Thanks,
Tarkan

Hi,
Standalone can import Alembic files with splines from v2, and you can correct the import scale and hair thickness by clicking on the wrench icon in the Node Inspector:

Indeed Xgen interactive cache is renderable in Standalone out of the box, bringing hair UVs and per curves width attribute.

Awesome performance! Just wondering of hair shading in octane render. Does it have a dedicated hair shader with transmission features?

no builtin dedicated hair shader, but you should try the universal material.
