Z Depth Pass

Hello, I just downloaded the Demo of Octane and have really been liking it so far. In my exploration I have run into an issue with the z-depth pass and was wondering if I am missing a setting. The issue is that my pass shows as solid black and white. I have fixed this by using the "Z-depth max" slider to make my pass display correctly in the live viewer though when I go to render out my multi passes (with render queue or picture viewer ) my z-depth pass ignores my tweak to z-depth max and renders out the original solid black and white z depth pass. I am rendering at 32bit and even after playing with the solid black and white version in AE I can't get the same results as I see in the Live Viewer inside C4D.

This is a workflow I would like to have down before pulling the trigger on a license, any idea what is going on?

Thanks,
Adam
