"Spot lights in Carrara can be represented in the Octane viewport by geometry with an emitter material. The Octane Render for Carrara plugin allows you to place spot light geometry in the same position as a spot light using a light effect called Octane Spot Light. The geometry is composed of a tube and a light plane. You can adjust the size and visibility of the tube as well as the size and power of the light. In addition, the plugin will use the Photometric Profile effect (if enabled) to load IES files into the emitter’s distribution channel."
