Green cast to demo render

Hi guys,

I have downloaded the demo of the Octane for C4D plugin with a view to buying it as I'm blown away by the renders I have seen.

However, I cannot seem to get over the first hurdle - everything has a green cast and lights don't seem to affect the renders (even with the Octane tags on). When looking at online tutorials, it seems to work straight out of the box, so any pointers would be appreciated. I'm sure it's just me missing something silly.

I have an nVidia Geforce 770 on Windows 10 and run C4D 16 and 17.

Thanks in advance,

Jeb

p.s. i've attached a picture to show you what i mean.

Hi,
you need to choose what kind of illumination first (texture environment, physical sky, hdri environment, because the default light is from a gray environment so the cube looks flat now. Than switch to a better kernel like Path Tracing or PMC for better quality ;)
Please have look at some basic tutorials:

Thank you so much for getting back to me, I will try that as soon as I'm back in the office!

Hope you've had a good holiday,

Jeb

Not sure if things are the same in C4D, but in Maya we change the Camera's Imager to linear for a neutral response. You can also use the white balance to select a mid grey.

Make sure there's an Octane tag on your camera.

Under 'Camera Imager' be sure to enable it and 'tick neutral response'
