Hello guys! How should i use portals with glass windows? I really need these glasses... Should i place portals inside or outside the room? I red the forum and found that it is hard to make portals work with glass, but these forum threads dated about 2014...
Maybe something has changed?

Hi,
portals in Octane are working differently, they are not designed to bring the light in, but to better clean up closed scenes with tiny apertures/windows.
Better to use an invisible blackbody emitter plane, at 12.000 Kelvin like the sky, slightly smaller than the window, moved inside the room for a couple of centimeters, and without touching any other surface.
You can also disable the Visible on Specular option in the Emitter node.

thank you, bepe!
However, i just selected "Fake shadows" option in specular material, and portal seems like working...
I/ve just done some tests with and without protals, and, as expected, without portals interior is much darker.
I'll test that approach with emmiters placed inside the room.
But it looks like Portals are working if they are place behind the glass
