Hi Fabian,

Yes there is a way to enable logging into a file for the net render slave and daemon. For that you would need a text file for each of these that define a bunch of log flags which will hopefully shed some light onto the issue:

- Please open the OctaneRender Daemon 3.08.1 bundle and then copy the content of the attached ZIP file into the sub-folder Contents/MacOS. It's basically two text files defining the log flags for the daemon and the slave.
- If the daemon is still running, change into its terminal and press CTRL-C to stop it.
- Then restart the net render daemon.
- Both the net render daemon and slave will start logging into the files octane_daemon_log.txt and octane_log.txt. You might find those files either in the application folder (if you've got write permissions to it) or under your user folder in ~/Library/Caches/octane_slave_daemon and ~/Library/Caches/octane_slave.

The try to reproduce your problem and when it happens, please send me the log files so I can investigate what's going on.

Cheers,
Marcus

No answer regarding the Offline Mode??

If anyone requires offline mode sooner, I’m recommending staying on 3.07 for just a little longer. Please contact help desk if there is a hard and immediate requirement for offline mode with 3.08.

i rechecked the driver infos:

i have installed:

macOS 10.12.6 (16G1408)
NVIDIA 378.05.05.25f09
CUDA 387.178

Hope that helps,

Cheers,

Fabian

Hi Fabian,

Thanks for testing. For some reason, the slave immediately shuts down after startup. Are you using C4D or the Standalone? If you are using C4D as net render master, could you try to get network rendering working on the Standalone and let me know if that works?

Thank you,
Marcus

Dear all.

I have mentioned that there is a bug in the UNDO on this latest standalone version, but nobody seems to care...
I have many coleagues complaining that the UNDO sometimes reverts the scene some 20 or more UNDO levels back, so hours of work are being lost.
It is not a trivial bug, please reply.

Sorry, I missed your report. How can we reproduce the issue? The undo system is quite complicated and without a more detailed description of when that happens or a way to reproduce the issue there isn't much we can do about it.

HELLO? ANYONE?

Are you just going to ignore questions regarding the Offline Mode?
I have not been able to use the current so called "stable version" for two months now because of this.

If anyone requires offline mode sooner, I’m recommending staying on 3.07 for just a little longer. Please contact help desk if there is a hard and immediate requirement for offline mode with 3.08.

Hello Abstrax,

Thanks! I've gotten reports that the UNDO jump an undetermined ammount of steps back, it doesn't happen all the time
se we don't know in what circunstances this happens, a coleague of mine says it happened while making a group and re-compiling.

It happened to me 2 or 3 times, but the bad thing is not to loose 15 minute of work, but having work undone without knowing about it.

That is why I was asking if someone else had this kind of problem?

Kind regards
Filipe

Hello Marcus, hello Otoy Team!

I installed the last 3.08 version with the latest 398.11 drivers. Still the old error NO CUDA DEVICES FOUND when using my gtx 780 ti cards.

Guys this problem is now for MONTHS. I phoned with nvidiy, they say its a otoy problem. I talk to you and you say its a nvidia problem.

In win 7 it works in 8 and 8.1 it doesnt and win 10 i dont have. 387 drivers still work. Guys this is a no go. Since MONTHS. I have to update very soon to new drivers and if it will not work soon (VERY SOON) this will be a reason to me to leave you guys and i really dont want that. But thats really a no go problem!

Please answer and tell me what you guys are doing about this problem.

Thank you and have a nice day - Chris!

Hi Chris,
if you are having the NO CUDA DEVICES FOUND error, the issue is in the Nvidia drivers version installed, and any kind of CUDA application that runs on your system, not only OctaneRender.
Have you contacted the support of your harware reseller?
Have you tried to use DDU to completely remove all previous drivers installed?
http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/dis ... nload.html
and performed a clean installation of 387.92 drivers?
A lot of users are working with 388.13, or 391.35 drivers, without stability issues, but it depends from motherboard model, Win version, and Nvidia drivers installed, not from OctaneRender itself.
You don’t need the latest Nvidia drivers, unless you have a Titan V.
ciao Beppe
