we have, on our list for 2.2, an application config file, that retains device manager and global obj import prefs, texture and obj file working paths, and a list of last projects opened.

If I move the project, I have to manually relink the textures and OBJ. It would be nice if I could put it all in the same folder as the ocs file and have them relink if it can't find them in the specified path.
hey,
if you place everything in the same directory, eg all OBJ/MTL and textures and OCS file, they will read fine.
when loading the OCS, if it can't find the linked textures or obj files, it will look in the same directory as the OCS file first, before asking.
(this is new in 2.1)
this is how the demosuite ocs files work, and they can be opened from any location.

Can that be put on the list ( of course get MLT and displacement first, unless it is something simple)? Currently, Octane will crash on a multiple monitor rig as soon as you click on the OBJ node (Linux version - no idea if this is so on other OS versions).

oh hey - it works. Great stuff.
One bug I noticed: double clicking files to open them from the desktop only works if the application isn't launched. If it's open already, nothing happens.
