MLT working - 9000 series or higher only

Hi all,

Here's a quick update on our progress towards the use of MLT for rendering finals.
We have a working MLT implementation, but due to some missing features in the 8000 series cards, we cannot supply the MLT functionality to users of those cards.

So people will have to stick to pathtracing or directlighting kernels with 8000 series GPUs, or upgrade to a 9000 or higher to be able to use MLT for rendering finals.

I'll post more information about it in a few days.

Does 8000 mean g80 based cards only( for example GF 8600, 8800 gtx, 8800 gts 320/640 ) or g92 based also( 8800gt, 8800gts 512 etc) ?

Cheers,

Shit... My Quadro fx 4600 is based on the 8800GTX >< Off to buy a new card then.. Why isent MLT possible on the 8000 series? This is bad news for a lot of people.

it basicallt means all cards with compute model 1.0 won't support it.
(you can check in the device manager of octane, it shows it next to the card. 1.1 or higher is ok)

Cool. It show 1.1 for my 8800gt, so g92 based cards are on the safe side:)

Tnx
