Iv posted a three part tutorial utilizing the placement node, its a environment scene.
Next i will release a video tutorial on the scatter node, it will be how to use it with: Maya, blender and (max - might be a bit late on this one) // This will count as one section
Then i will release the introductory to maya, which will be in the maya post

Thanks radiant for these tutorials! Been looking at the first 3, without even having the program! :)
1 question: How does your 590 perform? How long does it take for you to render a simple still image, like a soapbottle, on A2-size?

Sorry for the late reply, trail exams and finishing assignments.
The 590 is monstrously fast compared to other Nvidia graphics cards iv had (280, 480,580)
Simple scene that minutes to load, and with my latest tutorials (with instancing) i can render 4K renders of lush environments within an hour or two.
Although i have like 1 Mb left of Vram

That is crazy! They are not selling them 590s anymore also!

I just upgraded to 2x gt580, amazing rendertimes.

I am still able to use my workstation for photoshop or Solidworks, using the integraded HD4000 in the 3770K. I can even render with Octane and Keyshot (cpu-based) at the same time, on the same pc, with barely losing performance!

How hot do the cards get? I had to put my pc (thermaltake tsunami) almost outside (near the window), due to poor airflow, and put 2 fans directly at the 580s.

Temperatures dropped from 95C to 75C!
