Hello guys,

I'm proud to present the unofficial Octane Render Wikipedia.
This couldn't have been done without the help from the following:

suhail_spa
matej
mib2berlin
steveps3
Daniel
The octane community

Here is the article:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane_Render

There will probably be more updates within the next couple of weeks/months.

Thanks,

radiant

Official? I thought that you were told that it was to be unofficial. Has Radiance given it official standing now?

Can someone please show me an example of this motion blur. I notice that it is still on the wiki page but I am sure that Octane can't do motion blur.

don't know if it got changed after you red it steveps3, but it says "camera only" - and that's actually the case. meaning there is motion blur when your camera moves (but not your objects). it becomes apparent with fast pans for example.

thanks radiant...

we might need to add citation to the following line in the overview (it seems to be tagged by wiki-bots):
Octane Render was the world's first GPU-based unbiased renderer

i am not sure, but i think octane was the very first one of its kind (i.e. path tracing entirely on GPU) to be showcased at Siggraph 2010... maybe that can be added with proper documentation- if available..

hmmm dont know why it got tagged. Finding articles with facts and not opinions is hard.
That ever-motion review is proof enough isn't it?

Isn't every Wiki article by definition unofficial?

Anyway, thumbs up for the initiative, radiant :)

Thanks for your work guys. Maybe just call it the "OctaneRender Wikipedia article" or something like that.

Regarding, who is first and stuff: As far as I know (and Radiance might correct me here), iRay was the first GPU based unbiased engine, that got showed on conferences and became available for selected clients for testing. OctaneRender was the first GPU based unbiased render engine, that became actually available for everybody to try and buy.

Cheers,
Marcus
