NEW PURCHASE - GRAPHICS CARD - 1 HIGH END OR TWO LOWER SPEC?

Hi All - am using Octane Render at our architecture studio for testing projects etc. We're not completing high end professional marketing renders, but do require quality and FAST renders. Some of the projects have complex models and thus modelling and rendering can require some grunt. We're running on imac's with nvidia, but am about to buy a PC render workhorse - am looking at gaming machines, but will have one custom built.

Question is : Am I better off getting a single 1080ti with a box that can upgrade and drop another card in if required, or getting two 1070's or similar?
ie, will octane render quicker with two lower spec cards or 1 faster high end card?

Any help or thoughts would be hugely appreciated.

LOVING OCTANE!! :D :D

Buy one 1080TI. You keep yourself open w/upgrade path.

Two 1070 should be comparable in price as one 1080 TI...and comparable in performance. So why mess w/two cheaper cards.

Remember: Only Nvidia.
