so I just bought Octane+C4D V3 and I am trying to find materials to experiment with. I read about LiveDB as a platform to share resources but I couldn't figure out how to access it and find materials etc. is it accessed through the website or the application itself ?
sorry if this is a basic question but I wasted time trying to find it :/

Hi mishal and welcome :)
you can access the LiveDB from the Materials menu in the Live Viewer:
https://docs.otoy.com/manuals/products/ ... ials-menu/
https://docs.otoy.com/manuals/products/ ... b-support/
Remember to firstly save the scene before downloading materials, in this way, if a texture is embedded, it will be saved in your scene directory.

Thanks A million !
is LiveDB for sharing textures/materials only or is it also used for sharing content like scenes etc ? if not, what would be a good place to find octane scenes ? I am diving into Octane learning now and figuring out where to get such sample resources is going to be very helpful for me.
It would be helpful if OTOY has a library for community scenes sharing etc like Grabcad.com. :|
Thanks again for your quick tip. I'm downloading materials as we speak :)

Hi Mishal,
in LiveDB you can share octane materials in orbx format with any kind of Octane user. In Standalone is possible to share via orbx also complete scenes, geometry and all the necessary stuff. With plugins is a bit more complicated because every app has its own way.
Anyway, here are some example scenes about c4dOctane v3:
https://render.otoy.com/plugindownloads ... scenes.rar
and here is the link to the tutorial section:

happy rendering,
