Definitely would love to see Octane support Catmull-Clark compliant SubDs for my tweaked Maya/modo models so I wouldn't have to freeze the things.

I'm testing 3 ways:
- Native LW Export.
- Trough Luxology Modo.
- Using Okino Poly Trans.
Some conclusions after tests (not totally shure about):
- Meshes need to be tripled.
- The LW surfaces can't have names with characters like çáãé[]()... -after rename, was accepted...
- Only one UVMap for each named texture.
- No procedural texturies.
- No non-planar polys.
So, I'm not shure about what's the reason about some crashes when loading the mesh.
If some other LW user have some conclusions about, pls, share here...

some consideration

- From native LightWave you can export a obj mesh with quad without problem or artifact in Octane Demo, problem born with n-polys.
- procedural texture could be baked at high res to use them in octane
- very that export settings of modeler are like default, if someone don't know how the default i attach a screen grab.
- VERY IMPORTANT add one texture for every uv created or Modeler don't export that UV in final obj.
- check that you not have 1point and 2 point polygons (lw allow and render that)
- setup texture path in the same folder of obj (not classic lw content) or you risk to realign it many times
- check overlapped polygons, that crash octane during import

Hi,

I would like to add a detail to the 3DSMax export setup. If there is any object with a Turbosmooth modifier on it, the isoline display must be disabled, otherwise the imported object will be seen as a unique object.

Hm I used the settings displayed on the first page, they seems to work just fine.
The problem I had was not a problem with the export settings, more like a problem from 3DSMax.

I'll post a screenshot of it when I'll get access to my ftp.
