*Edit*
I re-read the user manual and realized I missed the expansion box section. It seems like I can set up diff video cards that way?

Hi guys!

I've been lurking around forever. I bought a beta license of Octane and finally I got sometime on my hands to try it out!
So I'm just setting up my video card and I bought a GTX 660 ti for Octane. I was told that multi video card only works when they're the same cards, but I see some fellow artists here have signature that shows two different video card and one seems to be able to dedicate fully to the display.

I looked through Octane's user manual but I didn't find anything related, maybe I missed something!

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Looooove octane render btw! Thanks for putting out such a great product :)

P.S. not sure if this is where I should ask the question but feel free to move my topic else where if I stumbled into the forbidden grounds :P

they don't need to be the same card. you could get any other CUDA card and they will work together.

(you don't need an expansion box unless you don't have extra slots on your board)

thanks for the quick response! So the only thing that I cannot do would be SLI but everything else should function properly? How would I isolate each card, one for the display and one for Octane then? Simply select the card you want dedicated for Octane? The other one should be left alone I assume?

Time to get a stronger power supply.... 650 watts to support a 660 ti and 550 ti might get fried :P

Hi, I have a GTX580 MSI 1.5 Gb and I want to add a GTX580 PNY 1.5 Gb for multi GPU renderings.
The fact that one is MSI and the other PNY would be a problem and have an impact on performances or it doesn't matter ?
I read the manual and some topics on the forum but didn't find answer to this question.
Thank you for your help.
