Case Study: A GPU based Render Pipeline

I recently put together a Case Study paper on using Octane Render in a GPU based Render Pipeline to create Studio Quality animations.

The presentation can be found here.

Update: After Migrating to my new website this page has been removed. Will re-edit once the page comes back online.

This is my first real Tutorial/Case Study so let me know if I missed some things or if you'd like to see more.

Happy Rendering.

This is what is discussed in the presentation.

Hey PhillieDFilms,

thank you very much for your insides!
Really nice Ad there... must have been a lot of work.

Would you mind to share how the laser beams were done? I really could need some advice on this for an upcoming work I have to do.
Was it modeled in Maya and rendered with Octane? Or completely After Effects? How was the animation of the laser beam texture done?? It looks very real.

Thank you in advance, keep the good work up.
Greetings

Hi Guys, Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad to see that some are reading the presentation.

I would like to state again that I DID NOT WORK ON ANY PART OF THE OFFICIAL LEXUS COMMERCIAL IN ANY FORM AND I AM NOT AFFILIATED IN ANY CAPACITY WITH LEXUS, THE PRODUCTION STUDIO THAT CREATED THE AD, OR ANY OTHER ENTITY THAT MAY HAVE BEEN A PART OF ITS DESIGN, CONCEPTUALIZATION, PRODUCTION, OR POST-PRODUCTION.

I merely created a case study presentation of what tools and techniques may be used if one where to do a spot like this using the Software packages described in my paper. The document is strictly for educational purposes only and should be regarded as so.

@ChrisVis: I'm assuming the lasers you are referring to are a part of the OFFICIAL LEXUS ad and therefore not a part of the work I did for my presentation. So I cannot help you there, apologies.

Hi PhillieDFilms,

ah ok, sorry for that. I didn`t read carefully enough, only jumped over it, watched the videos and read some of your study comments so far.
I actually thought you made the Ad *g*. (edited my first post)

But how did you get inside the whole pipeline, if you are not affiliated with the company, who did the ad?
