The multi-thread extraction feature that was broken in build 2020.2.3 is still broken in 2020.2.3.1 if NVLink is enabled, but if I disable NVLink it seems to work OK. A typical scene that I am using for testing took 38 seconds to load before rendering began in OctaneRender 2019.1.4. It now consistently loads in about 30 seconds with multi-thread extraction, but only if NVLink is disabled. QUESTION: Does enabling multi-thread extraction do anything for me besides speeding up the start of the first frame? I am not noticing any significant decrease in wait times between frames on a multi-frame animation.
Unfortunately, the speed increases in 2020.2.3.1 seem to be limited to scene loading; "RTX mode" does not appear to do anything for improving render times on my scenes. The aforementioned test scene rendered a frame in 33 seconds in OctaneRender 2019.1.4. In OctaneRender 2020.2.3.1 with RTX off it still renders in about 33 seconds. With RTX mode on, it still renders in about 33 seconds. The 2020.2.3.1 render times are identical whether NVLink is on or off. And if it makes any difference, I'm running the studio 471.11 driver.
