Octane for Unreal Engine

Changes:
  • OctaneLightmass: First version of the octane lightmapper for unreal (experimental)
  • ORBX Import: ORBX files that use alembic as geometry format can now be dissasembled into multiple static meshes that are placed in the level.
  • ORBX Import: Alembic conversion to geometry cache assets has been greatly improved all round
  • ORBX Import: Import Settings are now saved for next import
  • ORBX Proxy: ORBX proxies how have the option to use external orbx files via absolute paths.
These ORBX files will not be copied over into the ORBX uasset and will remain at their location.
  • Materials: Added support for certain HLSL functions in custom code nodes (Mainly fixes a couple Metahuman materials, maybe some others)

Fixes:
  • Landscape: Fixed crash in 5.1 that occurs when opening a level that contains a landscape when octane is already active
  • ORBX Import: Fixed various mesh slot connection issues with materials
  • Materials: fixed refraction issue

It seems you are logged into your octane account on a different pc?
You can log in to otoy.com and unlock your subscription/license in the subscription or the licensing panel.

This issue was likely caused by outdated/voided license activation data. Typically, License Activation data on your active machine can be affected by the following:

  • A system crash that occurs while Licenses are still activated
  • Shutting down a machine suddenly (before the software can release the Licenses properly), and making significant changes to your hardware
  • Changes to the operating system, or network configuration, on a machine with activated licenses
  • Changing your internet connection (i.e. logging out of one mobile network to log into a private Wi-Fi) without releasing your license first

Typically, you can deactivate licenses by simply closing your software before shutting down/resetting your machine. So long as the licenses are deactivated on the machine prior to any significant updates or changes, this issue should be easily avoidable in the future.
