Octane for Unreal Engine 0.27
Changes:
  • Added support for Cloth simulation (Uses CPU)
  • Added import options for ORBX import
  • ORBX importing now also convert environment nodes into Atmospheric Fog and Directional Light
  • Added Octane Material to Unreal Material conversion.
*Added as orbx import option, and is an option available in the Octane Material Editor
*This is a partial conversion intended for pre-viz and not a intended to perform 100% conversion

Fixes:
  • Fixed crash when exporting renderpasses
  • Fixed issue with 3rd party apps (iClone) setting skeletalmeshes to dirty even when nothing changed
  • Fixed orbx import crash when model could not be properly imported

HI

Do you have an estimation when an UE 4.24 version will be available?

Thanks for your hard work, and being active on the Forum also. I don't know how many people are working on it, but trying to keep up with Unreal and the constant updates every quarter is an insane task.

Hello Chris

Thanks for the new features. I'm very excited with all new things and things to come.

Question. Is it posible to get the render image from a render target as an UE4 image map or texture, so that I can see dynamically updating the render of the baking camera, the idea is to create a UE4 material with that texture (the render of the baking camera)

I can bake a whole scene in a single texture, but it would be perfect if I change the ORBX Scene light interacting in real time, for example (I mean the ORBX scene for UE4), it update the baking so that I bake the UE4 scene in realtime. What I change in the Octane Zone, affect in the UE4 zone.

To get there, I need the render target image to apear as UE4 Texture or RGB Image.

Is it possible to do that?

This very good for updating lights in virtual production, for example, I can see dynamically the progress in the Previs UE4 part, but with the baking of Octane Render.

Thanks for all.
