Octane for Unreal Engine - v0.23

Changes:
  • Added support for Unreal Engine 4.23
Notes:
  • This is the same build as v0.22
  • Future builds will support both 4.22 and 4.23
  • This update only makes Octane for Unreal Engine available for 4.23. It does not implement new Unreal 2.23 features

Unreal Engine 4.23:
Studio Installer: https://www.otoyserver.com/unrealengine ... UE4_23.exe
Enterprise Installer: https://www.otoyserver.com/unrealengine ... UE4_23.exe
Free Version Installer: https://www.otoyserver.com/unrealengine ... UE4_23.exe

Unreal Engine 4.22: (This is the same as a the previous v0.22 installer for unreal 4.22, so no reason to upgrade if you are on 0.22)
Studio Installer: https://www.otoyserver.com/unrealengine ... UE4_22.exe
Enterprise Installer: https://www.otoyserver.com/unrealengine ... UE4_22.exe
Free Version Installer: https://www.otoyserver.com/unrealengine ... UE4_22.exe

Thanks, UE 4.22.3 has been nothing but hot garbage for me so I'm hoping that the stabiliity improvements in 4.23 pay off.

Hi Chris ,

thank you for the updates , "Animated ORBX" works great now , also in UE 4.23 :-)

What I miss is to handle an "Animated ORBX" inside sequencer.
If you work with Alembic Files in Sequencer , you can insert the Geometry Cache as animation , could this be possible with "Animated ORBX" too ?
With this feature it is possible to animate the Camera while seeing the ORBX moving.

I take it you made a camera animation for your RT inside of the orbx?
If you are talking about animating unreal cameras, octane should already be picking up these unreal camera movements and apply them to the active rendertarget actor.

On animating orbx manually.
Octane has one global timeline. So it cant be done per ORBX, but it could be done octane wide.
We are looking into adding more blueprint/property driven features, Ill check it this can include animation timeline.

Hey Chris,

So excited to be using octane with the sequencer in Unreal now. Producing some excellent results!

However in our 4.23 build we still seem to be experiencing the bug that was marked as fixed in 4.22 where the render output would sometimes save out the un-denoised result. Seem to be having the issue with both Octance Render and Octane Integrated outputs. Could you shed a little light on this please?

Cheers!

The underlying issue should be fixed in the new build we just pushed.
