This is off to a much, much better start than octane for unity. I have a Vray for Unreal license but never use it. Despite strongly disliking octane for unity, and already having vray for unreal, I am pleasantly surprised by octane for unreal. I think you have a solid foundation here.

If I upgraded my octane 4 license to Enterprise DCC / All-Access would I have access to 4 GPUs in octane for unreal? I have read the FAQs and many forum threads, and yet I am still confused over the convoluted purchasing and licensing direction that Otoy has gone down. It is a mess.

Is my understanding correct:

Free/prime tier: limited to 1 GPU
Studio subscription: limited to 2 GPU
Enterprise DCC / All-Access: limited to 20 GPU

Do I have this correct?

I don't understand why you can't publish a simple comparison chart or summary like above that makes the limitations of these different tiers crystal clear to potential and current customers.

Great to hear :)

The licencing page is indeed not easy to understand. Took me a while too.
Your summary is correct when it comes to GPU's

Enterprise DCC / All-Access: limited to 20 GPU
For this licence its important to note that you get Enterprise access for the selected plugin.
The all-access part gives you Studio access for the other plugins.

Here is a forum post FAQ about licencing.

*Note that during the BETA you can use any other licence to access Octane for Unreal Engine.
That means that during the beta you can use Enterprise in unreal if you have any other enterprise licence.
Same for if you have any studio licence you can use Octane Studio For Unreal Engine.

Do you think Sequencer is possible?
Please tell us yes!!!!!

We think it is, and its at the top of our schedule.

The Sequencer is one of the most horrid parts of the Unreal UI.
It would be more easy if they just had a simple render by frame mechanic detached from the sequencer, right?!

Unfortunately, now I am even further confused. As the attached screenshot shows, I am not given any option to choose a selected plugin. So I am guessing that I can only have more than 2 GPU on the existing octane 4 DCC plugins that I already owned, blender and modo?
This is just too complicated and convoluted. And the linked FAQ doesn't help at all. Going to pass on octane for now, but thanks for trying to help.

I found the issue, the fix will be in the next build.

Is this version available for me to bake the lightmap using octane?
And how should i import the orbx in unreal?
I exported the orbx from octane c4d V4.02.1-R2.
it works good at the standalone.
but in unreal i cant see any thing in octane render besides the oc icon.
when i click the orbx itself, there's no node graph.

So stupid question but what good is seeing the ORBX file ONLY in the live octane viewer ?? Its cool but we need to see it in the ACTUAL UNREAL EDITOR....
Right now it is just an OCTANE symbol. WTF ?
