UE 5 - nanite support?

Hi there Chris,

Do you think it is possible to hook Octane with Nanite workflow within UE5 ..

Also when you guys release Brigade - can it work within UE5 - with nanites?

Although there are many videos about Lumen - i dont think it is for highend archviz. Yes for games it is revolutionary removing lightmapping but for archviz there is an insane quality difference with brigade So brigading UE5 would be awesome ...

One last thing .. why you guys do not negotiate with Epic - providing Brigade as the second renderer for TwinMotion.. (possibly they will release Lumen and Nanite for TwinMotion)

I think the future of real time archviz - not Lumen but Brigade ...

What are your thoughts - always great to read your future plans...

UE5 support is comming for the plugin. However, it is not certain yet how the plugin is going to support Nanite.
As a short tearm solution, it may be possible to make a nanite snapshot and upload that to octane.

Other than that, personally, I agree with your assesment on lumen and nanite.
Lumen is pretty great for games, and mid-quality archviz and realtime archviz.
But we'll see where Epic takes it.
And Nanite is great all round it seems. But it is a very rasterizer focused tech.

I cant comment on Brigade sadly. You will have to ask Jules about that.

Hey guys,

I'd be thrilled to see a Nanite + Brigade combo too (if it's technically possible to transfer nanites tech somehow into OctaneBR) :). Also looking forward to check out the UE5 Octane plugin when it comes out Chris!

Best Wishes,
Peter
