Well it still seems to beachball when making a material. - and then locks up c4d till i force quit it.
Can't even get to the point of starting the ipr..

i did get a 2nd message i didn't see before.. and i DID remove the Redshift plugin as requested to test..

Not much of a difference though...

Can you help me to initialise Octane X Prime?

Im running MacBook Pro M1, OS BigSur 11.2.1

When I Placed octane folder into /applications/maxon/cinema4d R23/plugins it still doesn't appear in the application.

Did anyone run it successfully?

Please install Mac Os 11.2.1 stable and report back, thanks.

Experimental M1 chip support is only in Standalone PR7 for now, plugins for M1 should arrive with next PR8 version.
Unfortunately Standalone PR7 Prime it is not available for now, you need to have a little bit of more patience.

Also, is Octane Render stable for Blender on BigSur / M1 chip?

Yes i know it worked on 11.2 I really DON"T want to do a wipe and re-install here.. so do you know if this will work with the upcoming 11.3 ?
If so .. i will just wait.. or punt and use RS which seems to work.
It seems both renderers are ping/ponging back and forth between working and NOT working between OS builds.. Very frustrating!

Only Standalone is working at the moment on M1 Chip, but free Standalone Prime version will be available via Apple Store only, so it has to follow other rules.
Only free Prime plugins are available on the forum, you need a Studio or Enterprise active license to be able to download Standalone PR7.

@cjadams:
Yes sure, it will work with 11.3, but only when the stable version will be published, the support to Big Sur Beta versions is not guaranteed.

@ShapeJewelry:
The OctaneX Prime tier is free for at least all of 2021. The expiration date that you see is a rolling expiration date so it will continue to automatically extend itself as needed.
