Just wanted to echo this as I'm facing the same bug. The offset seems to differ a bit sometimes, either depending on the angle or the distance to the object, I'm not sure. It's incredibly annoying as selecting the right object – especially small ones – is now a challenge every time.

MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2021), M1 Max, MacOS 12.0.1. Confirmed this bug exists both in blend files opened that were authored in a different version of blender, as well as a fresh scene.

I also can confirm that this bug that has been introduced in the Octane X Blender Plugin PR14. It is present on Intel and Apple Silicon machines, laptops and desktops. It makes working in Blender absolutely impossible :(
One of the big fixes of PR14 was the return of de-noising for Intel Macs on macOS 12.3. This is true for the PR14 stand alone version, but in the Blender Plugin de-noising still doesn't work.

Hi Beppe, to clarify - does this version work on mac pro with AMD GPU? Or is it solely for new M1 machines. And if the latter, will it be coming to Mac Pros with AMD GPUs? And when can we expect this? Thank you

Hi, with all these versions I'm a bit confused.

I am still on Big Sur (Intel with egpu RX 6900XT), so for me there is now only PR11.
If I upgrade to Monterey, I can use PR14 with C4D (R23) plugin?
And what's up with PR13?
Is it wise to upgrade now or better to keep my current setup?

Thanks!

Hi Olav,
yes, if you upgrade to Monterey, you need to install OctaneX PR14, PR11 is only for Big Sur.
PR13 is fior Monterey too, but it has an issue with AI Denoiser and AMD GPUs, so better to go directly to PR14.

But please, firstly try to install Monterey on another partition or ssd, Apple Metal driver in Monterey is quite picky, and not all the AMD RX 6900 XT GPUs are recognized for rendering.

Beppe

Beppe, Jay & Co.
It might be useful and save a lot of questions if you guys make a little chart with the various OSes, hardware, and Octane combinations, showing which work and which don't. I realize that's a lot to ask for the entire line of Octane plugins, but basic Octane Render compatibility would be tremendously useful and save a lot of chatter.
