Point light hot spots in reflective materials

Hi there,

I started mocking up a test for a project I'm looking to start that includes an elevator with a glass/reflective wall. The material is nothing special, just a 100% smooth/metallic unity PBR mat. I seem to be getting hot spots from my lights. Is there any good way do dial these out?

Also getting some odd shadows off the hand rail, but I'll worry about that later ;-)

Hi ahrenm,

There is a slider "Highlight compressor", in the Imager settings. Try setting that to 1 to try and reduce the hotspots.
Or maybe try lowering the specular value of your material.

As for the shadow coming from the handrail, can you rotate the sun directional light and see if that moves it? It looks like sunlight passing through the mirror somehow.
