ORBX Import Problem

Hi all,

i am trying to establish a workflow from Octane standalone to Unity for VR use.
When importing an ORBX file to Unity I get this Error:

GUI Error: You are pushing more GUIClips than you are popping. Make sure they are balanced)
UnityEngine.GUIUtility:ProcessEvent(Int32, IntPtr)

The import results in an asset, that seems to be nothing but a gizmo when selected from the Hierarchy panel.
No geometry is shown in the viewport.

My guess what could be causing this error is the following:

Due to a Paypal payment issue in Germany I cannot use a subsrciption license, which is, as far as I know, required for running Octane in Unity.
My company does own several pre-paid Octane licenses which are running fine in Octane standalone.

I was able to load Octane in Unity using the Unity Account as the Login Account in the Octane settings.

The Octane log shows the following:

Started logging on 21.06.18 09:05:55

OctaneRender Prime 4.00 XB3 (4000008)

ORC user subscription status could not be retrieved: The server returned a client-side error with HTTP code: 401
ORC subscription status cannot be found

I have contacted the Octane support about the paypal payment issue in Germany, but I did not recieve a response so far.

Does someone know if this is truely a licensing issue, or is it something that i cat fix in another way?

With best regards,

Yskert

Are there log messages in your Unity Console window before the last one?
Could you also provide me with a copy of the last error message which contains the callstack? (can also be found in the Console window).

Good morning,

thank you for your reply!

I just did a fresh startup, loaded Octane: The Octane log shows the same error as yesterday.

I tried the ORBX import again, there are 3 initial errors that keep repeating in the same order every few minutes without me doing anything.

The attached images show the 3 error messages.

Thank you for your help!

This images shows the 3 initial errors. While I took the screenshots more errors popped up.

Can you try placing the ORBX file you're importing in the somewhere in the Assets folder for your project? I reckon it'll work then. We'll work on a fix in the meantime to allow ORBX files to be loaded from other locations.

Hi,

that fixed the import errors, thank you!

Unfortunately there is still nothing more than a gizmo when I drag and drop the import to the viewport.
It looks just like in the first image I posted. I double checked my file, and I am sure it actually contains geometry.
Any idea what could still be the issue?

What data is present in the ORBX file?

The ORBX file contains a mixture of solids, and surfaces. It is large-scale (approx. 2 kilometers in x and y) because it is an architectural site model.
Is the size a probabal cause of the problem?

The scale shouldn't be an issue, the meshes should still be converted. Would it be possible for you to send me the ORBX file? I'd like to use it to find out what is causing your issue.

Same problem here, I actually thought that this would be "normal" and you have to do some fbx geometry workaround to see something in the native unity editor?
Are the objects visible in the octane PBR Viewport?

I am curious if this has been resolved?
I'm having very similar issues.
