For 2.8 and forward, I believe it would be extremely useful for many users to have an integrated Render Time Estimator. When using 2.79, I was able to use the Addon render_time.py . Really nice, and automatic. No need to enter number of frames, etc.

reach out to Jason van Gumster, the creator of the great little render estimator script that worked in 2.79. He indicated he will update it to 2.8.
