17.7 Crashes with DupliFrames

The latest Octane Blender crashed when I tried to rendering a part of my scene, which worked fine in 17.6/2018.1. I isolated it to an object that I have duplicated along a curve (DupliFrame).
I created a test .blend with just a cube duplicated along a curve (attached) and that crashes as well when trying to render for 17.7 (but works in 17.6).
Running it from a console the error it gives is a Stack Overflow exception.
NB: If the Octane Server isn't running that error ("Can't connect") will be outputted to the console before the crash, but not shown to the user.
