Hi, i not used Octane more than a year ago. Last stable installed and my Blender GUI slow.
Win10 x64
GTX960 2GB - display
GTX1060 6GB - render

I try to swap cards between the two PCIE slot but no changes. Octane standalone works well. Tried a rendered viewport with simple plane or cube without any material but the whole gui slow plus my audio crackle during the render.

Looks like a bug. Does it happen on OSX too? On my machine interface is smooth as butter on OSX. I don't recall any issues with Windows too but it was less smooth than on OSX.

Have you disabled one of the GPU from rendering on Octane rendering tab?

This happened to me when I had either one faulty card or an older card that didn't support PCIe Gen3. Try go to your BIOS and set both slots to be PCIe Gen2 instead of Gen3 or Auto.

Hi,

Just to confirm, this slowness of the GUI occurs, even though you have reserved one GPU for display only? This is likely a plugin bug if:

* This issue cannot be replicated in the Standalone, or
* You are able to use Blender without Octane, but cannot replicate the issue in this case.

If you have a dedicated Display GPU, that is not being used for Octane Rendering, this slowdown should not be happening. Please confirm that you have your display GPU connected to a non-rendering GPU when this issue occurs.

Cheers,
Azen

Hi, thanks for your reply.

This happens only when i use Octane in Blender. The display card is not rendering. As i wrote the standalone works as expected, the gui responsive, fast.
Tried with different gpus. Try to swap them but no changes. Additional info(?) i use 4k monitors.

ps. Sorry for the late reply, but i give up to wait an answer from blender dev.
