This is only happening with the Octaneblender files, I've tried installing/uninstalling other programs and they all work well. Any ideas on what may be causing this?

Never mind about this, it was Avast blocking them from executing. I just deactivated the antivirus during the installation process and created a couple of exceptions for Octane blender/server. This way both programs installed OK and run fine :D The funny thing is that Avast hadn't done that before, only till now. Anyway, problem solved! :D

Something should apparently not be happening...

Is the online data base not up to date with the latest Octane development?

Jim, if you like to view the .blend I´ll pm you.

Update: Jim, this one seems to be related to our favorite texture problem. And this time it is reproduced in a very simple scene which might make it easier to figure out, if you don´t already have an answer. This is an fbx import in to an empty blender scene. In the outliner I unlink all textures from materials that comes with the fbx-file. I then delete all orphans. I now have a clean mesh and file that should give me no issues. And that was true until I imported a bronze material from the online database. First time I got the attached error message. Then I found an orphaned image that some how survived my clean out (I have noticed that some times you have to delete orphans twice). SO, I deleted that image, and then I tried to import the online bronze material again. This time when rendering (preview rendering) I get the same error message that I have reported before with the "....error transferring the refreshed texture file to the server...".

Hello,
I am working on a project and since I downloaded the new version of octane plug in , every time I try to preview in rendered mode, blender crashes. If I press F12 it renders fine!
If I start a new scene it works properly even in preview mode. What could be wrong ? Before installing the new version it was working...
Any idea?

Could perhaps the map for longitude and latitude positioning in the sun panel be implemented in to Blender?

Cheers!

I have similar issue, whenever I try to render preview through camera Octane crash. If I render viewport without looking through camera it renders fine ...

{EDIT} Crash also happens if I render with render region. Error I got is only this: Error: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION

{EDIT} Ok it has nothing to do with camera but Border render. If that is active it crashes.

Hi SreckoM, does it crash with default scene?
If not please add the file and add your system specs, driver and so forth.

Cheers, mib

It happens with just box in scene, or sphere whatever.

System specs are GTX 980Ti and i7 6700K 4.01Ghz 32GB RAM. But this happens on my colleague machine too, lower specs than mine.
It worked for previous release, on same machine/

So, in this version we're able to save unclamped exrs that look more manageable than previous untonemapped exr. And this is super cool, obviously, but does this mean we won't be able to save final pngs that look exactly like previews any more? When I try to render my current projects in 9.8, the colours are a bit faded (compared to 9.7) and require at least a quick fix in Arion or Camera Raw. Or am I overlooking something?
