There may still be issues happening with this 2020.2 SDK version, especially on Mac with AI denoiser and AI upsampling, like CUDA error 700. The engine team is still working on the issues...
So please test this version carefully, before using for production!

Hi Jim,

There is problem the way you did the DCC for Aces workflow. You toke off the option of color space on the exr export. Basically if the output is not linear is pointless the ACES workflow ACES is a display options if we need use exr passes + comp on NUKE/AE or Davinci we need Linear EXR without the color space ACES to be able to reply on post exactly like the standalone options

Is extremely necessity to have those options for a accurate ACES Compositing workflow.

Best,
JO

Hi Jim,

Also I couldn't find the new feature Geometries :

Geometric primitive. (I think is osl geometry? there no such name on the standalone? also there presets there which is useful why not just add as the standalone and use same names?)

Scatter on surface.
Scatter on surface.

I couldn't find those nodes? The only way to use is via Orbx proxy, is that correct? or is somewhere with a completely different name?

Best,
JO

This is a very first stable plugin version released with OCIO support, improvements will follow.

You can use the ORBX proxy for any Octane geometry nodes.

Any idea on how to use the C4D noise node? I am not getting anything, just plain white.

Hi Jim,

I'm sorry this is not a reason, then why Houdini and Cinema4D works on the export? The reason is following the proper export, Here is actually "missing" the color space options. Basically for us is point less, we can't update or we need export orbx for all scene and do ourself.
You can't call stable release with missing BASIC feature of exr export this is nothing to do with Aces, we could choose the color space need while saving linear srgb default or tonnemapping has being there for a while and with Aces we had more option is case but also unnecessary because with Aces linear composting we need just export linear exrs when use Aces to not applied double color profile and clamp the renders while doing the compositing at retouch software such Nuke/Ae/DaVinci and the actual ACES on the Standalone, Houdini and others is this IS WORKING at the moment on Standalone and others DCC plugs, only Maya plug toke off the option on the exr and exporting wrong profile when Aces activated the fact you toke off we can't choose to use linear and others included DCC plugs we can.

For the Geometry the Orbx Proxy we understood that when half of the thing are implemented we always jump on that to be honest we are all right Lua script to use only Standalone at this point.

Please update at least this option of exr export.

Cheers
Jo
