Otoy® is proud to announce the availability of a new OctaneRender™ for Maya® Version 2020.1
The world's fastest and most feature-rich unbiased render engine that integrates completely into Autodesk® Maya®.

Maya® Version Requirements

This release will work with Maya® Versions 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 64-bit on Windows, Linux and OSX operating systems.

To use this version, you need a GPU of compute model 3.0 or higher. Support for Fermi GPUs (like GTX 4xx and 5xx) has been dropped. Also make sure you use a driver of version 419.17 or higher and if you are working on Mac OS that have a CUDA driver installed that supports at least CUDA 9.1.

Changelog and the installers for Octane Standalone are here:

Changes since version 17.27:

  • Implemented the IES viewport-visualisation for native Octane light nodes (material-based light nodes).
  • Reworked the functionality to fix the issue with refreshing the animated camera-mapped textures during batch rendering.
  • MacOS releases are now signed by an official Apple ID signature (so far except octane.dylib binary, should be fixed in Octane SDK later).

Make sure to use a NVIDIA Studio driver with version at least 451 on Windows or 450 on Linux to use this version. No driver updates are required for macOS.

Is there a trick to enabling GPUs for rendering in this version? I just downloaded the studio driver and this version and no GPUs are showing up in Maya 2020.2.
4 GTX 690's 4 GTX 780Tis 32 gb ram

Hi g0ll4m,

Thank you for reporting this.
We are unable to replicate this issue on our workstations.

Could you please check the Nvidia driver as we require at least Nvidia v451 or higher since 2020.1.5?
Please try installing this version 456.38 [https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/163533/en-us]!!

It could also be Maya's UI issue maybe try re-installing Octane for Maya!!

Let us know how it goes.

Cheers
Kind Regards

I seem to be getting insta-crash when creating a triplaner projection node in the hypershade--it works fine in the orbx material window though. This was something in the previous version too (not sure how long ago it started).
Intel i7-3930K, 64gb RAM, Asus X79 Deluxe mobo, 2x EVGA 780 6gb (for rendering), 1x PNY quaddro k4000 (for display)
Windows 8.1 x64, Maya 2014, Octane Render v2

Hi Itsallgoode9,

Thank you so much for reporting this.
It's confirmed as a bug and we have created a ticket.

Hopefully, it will get resolved in the next build.
