Hi, just got a license to try out Octane in Houdini on Metal and there seams to be an issue with the volume ramps. The volume material renders in the IPR but as soon as I add a ramp to absorption it crashes. Tried it a bunch of times with the same result.
My details:
Houdini 18.0.460
iMac
Catalina 10.15.6
3.6GHz 8-core Intel i9
64GB RAM
Radeon Pro Vega 48 8GB
Is this a known bug? Keen to get this fixed.

I think that this is a known issue. I had reported it to the core devs some time ago, so probably it will be fixed in the next build.
