Using mantra only a lot of Octane stuffs are initialized.
Obj Octane parameter are removed.
This translate into a non insignificant time out period.

Any info on this ?

Hi,

This log/console report is related is the plugin initialization when Houdini is launched. At this point, all the Octane nodes and other Octane stuff are built. It is done automatically by Houdini when the plugin is installed, so the only way to avoid it is to remove the plugin from the houdini.env file.

It is true that this takes some seconds, mainly because Octane needs to load all the huge NIVIDA and CUDA libs, so perhaps you could build a launch script to configure the HOUDINI_PATH variable with our without Octane if you are not going to work with it. Only be aware that any scene with Octane nodes will be destroyed if you load it and later save it again without Octane installed.
