Hi , I experience some crashes during octane renders. Houdini closes straight. Octane sometimes complains about " trying to acces null nodes" or something ressembling that.

It seems pretty random.

Using Octane for Houdini 4.02.1
I am on windows 10, using H17.5.173,
Nvidia drivers : 25.21.14.1935

Windows 10 |NVIDIA RTX TITAN - 24GB| i9-9900K | 64GB RAM

Hi,

It is hard to say what could be the problem without more information. Can you please enable the Octane log file in the plugin options panel and attach here the log file that you get after one of these crashes?

Thanks,

I'm getting similar events happen, particularly when I leave the computer to render overnight, it's very common for houdini / octane to just crash to desktop and stop at any random frame, say 154 out of 250 for instance. Doesn't seem to be any logic to it, I can reopen the file and hit render from where it crashed and it will just keep going again... but that is really not reliable or reasonable.

I just had it last night using 4.04 and H17.5 229

were you able to find out why? 3ds max does the same with the latest octane 4. Thanks
