Cheers,

I think that the "all access" licenses are not ready yet. They should be available around December 9, as far as I know.

Thanks,
-Juanjo

Hey so with this latest release I'm having trouble using my net render slaves. I've attached a scene that renders correctly in RC6 but not in .21

The net render slaves hang up completely and have to be unplugged from power to come back to life.

Im using nvidia 410 on both my linux net render nodes and nvidia 416.34 on my windows workstation. I am also using h17.

Ok. You can't see any CUDA or other error in the slaves, right? Are you using the out-of-core feature in both the workstation and the render nodes? I'll try to reproduce this problem here.

Thanks,

I'll copy what it shows in the shell when I get home. Not using OOC at all with the scene I linked.

Hi,

I've checked the network rendering using your scene in both Windows and Linux render nodes without problems so far. I'm not sure what ROP node are you rendering, but I've tried all the ROPs available in the scene and the network rendering always works fine. Could it be a drivers issue? I'm still working with 39x drivers on Linux here.

Thanks,
-Juanjo

Hey so sorry for mega delay. I've been wayyyy under water work wise!! Anyways it looks like the "fast GPU" thing they added in 4.00.0.21 was the culprit. Standalone had the same issues, when I switched to 4.01.1 the problem went away. I'm using two system with 10 GPUs with risers. Is there anyway we can get a build against this for Houdini?

Yes, sure. I'm going to release a new plugin build along this week with the latest 4.01.1 Octane core.

ptunstall wrote:Hey Juanjo that crash that happens when you try to render an openVDB file with a sop that has nothing in it still exists. It's worse now that Houdini 17 doesn't automatically drop a file node into a geo sop.

Hi,

I've fixed the crash, but the OpenVDB file is not going to be rendered if there isn't any SOP node inside the OBJ node. Without a valid render SOP all the logic used by the plugin to iterate the scene and build the render lists doesn't work at all.

Thanks,
