Hi!

This is the latest production build of OctaneRender™ 3.0 for Houdini™ compiled with the Octane 3.08 core. This release is available for the Houdini 15.5/16.0/16.5 latest production builds on Windows x64, Linux gcc4.8 and OSX 10.11. This plugin is also compatible with Houdini 15.5/16.0/16.5 Indie. In this case, the plugin will have a 4k limited resolution while rendering sequences, and the scene export and cloud rendering features disabled.


Notes:
- Since we have to use CUDA toolkit 9.1 for that, you may have to update your graphics driver.
- This build supports all the new Octane 3.08 features, but be aware that the OSL feature is not ready yet. The OSL VOP nodes are there and work loading any osl file, but the GUI parameters and input pins for the osl shader are not available in the VOP nodes yet. At least a new 3.08 build will be available shortly including the final implamentation of the OSL VOP nodes.

- Various changes to make network rendering communication more robust.
- Suppressing warning messages if an ORC account doesn't exist or has expired.
- Fixed a crash if the LiveDB tab in the dialog is selected.
- Fixed a couple of sampling bugs in the glossy and metal materials.
- Fixed emission pattern of mesh lights if no projection node is connected to the texture node connected to a distribution input.
- Fixed missing volume emission if no render passes were enabled.
- Fixed rendering of the volume mask in areas that are not part of the active render layer.
- Fixed black halo around objects with the "special" specular material with IOR 1, roughness 0, white transmission and a medium.
- Fixed far distance values of deep pixel volume intervals.
- Fixed splatting of volume deep pixel samples which were sometimes affecting the first surface bin of the next pixel.

I have a geometry aniamta through clip.. When I do the render with the animation the geometry does not work! Why?

The plugin can render the animated sequences in two modes: updating the scene among the frames or fully reloading it. You have this setting in the Octane ROP node, Main tab, "Rendering Mode" option.

The scene updating is usually faster than fully reload it, but the plugin only can update the mesh if it has a constant topology among the frames. If in your animation the mesh is not updated, please change the rendering mode to "Full scene reload".

If this doesn't help, please let me know to further investigate.
