such a tease! it would have been the best new years gift!
Juajno, is my understanding correct that with the new multiengine Octane capacity we'll be able to use Arnold inside Octane's framework, that applies to IPR too?

Well, yes, in theory anything that can be rendered should work in the IPR too.

Hey Juanjo,

I'm using the Spectron spotlight and can't figure out how to get the geometry in the Scene View to reflect the Throw Distance and Cone Width settings. The cone geo stays the same size regardless. I seem to remember this updating in earlier versions, but I'm not 100%.

Sorry, I just realized that this is the behavior of the regular Octane light, but not Spectron.

Hi Juanjo,

I'm noticing in this build that I'm getting pretty frequent crashes where the IPR is trying to load one of the lights. The crash takes Houdini down entirely and no crash file is created. The IPR status will hang as it's stating that it's loading one of the lights and then all crashes. It also doesn't seem to be related to any of the lights in particular that I have in my scene, but it's always one of the Spectron spotlights that it hangs on. I've been able to reproduce the issue by opening and closing the IPR after it starts rendering. I also try opening it while inside one of the geo nodes. Doing this 4 or so times seems to be the point where it freezes.

Note that I usually try to let it start rendering a little anyway before closing in general as the IPR has always had an issue for me with crashing Houdini if I try to close it before it's fully started. Hopefully the new IPR system will be decoupled from Houdini so if Octane crashes it wont take Houdini down with it.

Remind me again how to send you a private file and I'll share the hip.

Just getting around to this and realized I overwrote the file since my last comment. I can't seem to reproduce the issue now so am assuming that a restart may have solved it. Anyway, if I come across the issue again and can reproduce I'll send the file along immediately.
