Hi!

This is the latest production build of OctaneRender™ 3.0 for Houdini™. This release is available for the Houdini 14.0/15.0/15.5/16.0 latest production builds on Windows x64, Linux gcc4.8 and OSX 10.11. This plugin is also compatible with Houdini 15.5/16.0 Indie. In this case, the plugin will have a 1080p limited resolution while rendering sequences, and the scene export and cloud rendering features disabled.

* NEW PLUGIN FEATURES:

- Support of packed geo point level attributes, for example from DOP points to packed fragments.
- Improved the extraction time of large number of instances.

* PLUGIN BUGS FIXED:
- Fix: Problem with the primitive attributes stored in packed primitives.

* OCTANE BUGS FIXED:
- Fixed loading of palletized images into the alpha image texture node, which was basically ignoring the alpha channel in those cases.
- Fixed incorrect loading of extra UVs, which caused triangles with only 0 or 1 UV sets to be treated as triangles with multiple UV sets, which increased memory usage and reduced render performance by a couple percent.
- Fixed numerical issues in reflections of specular surfaces, if the incoming ray is exactly perpendicular to the surface. This created for example a lot of noise on a horizontal plane if the sun would stand exactly in zenith.
- Fixed missing application of the pixel aspect ratio in thin-lens cameras with camera motion blur.
- Fixed crash during tone-mapping of the noise pass when the baking camera is used.

IS it possible to use Custom OpenGL window for IPR on OSX? I set it in options but IPR won't start at all. OSX Sierra.
BTW I am using demo.

Nope, sorry. Currently, in OSX the IPR works only inside MPlay due to some limitations related to the libs that I'm using for the OpenGL window in the latest OSX versions.

Anyway, the MPlay IPR has near the same functions available in the OpenGL IPR. You have an additional shelf with some IPR tools that can be used while working with MPlay. Also I hope to update the plugin soon to support the rendering in the native Houdini RenderView panel and using the render region tool.

Thanks mate, you are doing great job. I am testing Octane and Redshift plugins, evaluating what to purchase for a few upcoming projects.
It is driving me nuts that MPlay window can not be setup to stay on top. Probably will have to download some 3rdparty app to force it.

You can force MPlay to be always on top adding the -T option to the MPlay profile, in the Command Line parameter.
