No matter what I do I can't seem to figure out how to solve this error.

I can render fine with redshift, and Arnold, and Mantra on deadline, but I can't for the life of me get octane working. Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi,

Have you asked about this issue to the Deadline support or in its forum? It seems some kind of issue on the Deadline side because the plugin has been loaded and it is even closed on exit without problems. You could try to disable the MPlay preview in the Octane ROP node to check if it helps, but the problem could come from the Deadline rendering script used to work with Octane, so I'm fairly sure that the Deadline team could help you.

Thanks,
-Juanjo

I haven't posted it to thinkboxes forum yet, mainly because I can't even get hqueue or Houdini batch to render without the same error.

I have tried disabling all mplay settings and its still the same issue.

Hmm, weird. Here at least hbatch seems to work fine. I only need to execute "hbatch" from the command line tool, mread the scene file and render it, as you can see in the attached image. Do you have the same problem while doing something like that?

Thanks,

so if I run hrender as admin I can get it to render without deadline, but I still can't get deadline to work. I have posted to their forums for support.

Hmm, this sounds to me like some kind of permissions or users problem, but it is hard to say.

Thanks,

Hi,

While working fixing another bug I've found a problem that could be related to your issue. I'll include this fix in the next plugin build, but meanwhile, if you want to test a custom build including it, send me a pm including your Houdini version and Octane license type.

Thanks,
-Juanjo

Hey Juanjo! I'd love to try it out, I am on octane enterprise.

I did update to .566 and the latest plugin you've posted. Even when just trying to run hrender I get the error still.
