tonemapped EXRs

Whenever I render a "tonemapped exr" it comes out looking good in the ipr/mplay and then in after effects it clearly is untonemapped. when i do tonemapped pngs it looks correct/matches mplay and the ipr. what is the correct way to get my exr output looking the same way as mplay?

you want to output untonemapped EXR's they will look correct in AE (as AE auto applies tonemapping on import) in Fusion you would add a gamma 2.2 correction to your untonemapped exr for it to look like your IPR.
