Hi there,
i oftenly use commandline tools and hscript as render queue, but i haven`t found a possibillity to "steal" or automatically bind all network deamons/rendernodes. i have to quit houdini on the Master Machine to allow the slaves to render along.

is there maybe a command line option like -f for overrideing the framerange?

i use it like this:
mread Z:/PATH/TO/PROJECT.hip
render -f 1 800 /out/Octane_ROP1

many thanks in advance for any help

best
jn

Looking to know more about this too - some kind of steal function that could be scripted.

Hi there, I just need some clarification if you don't mind.
Are you using the Hscript Textport? So even with the Network Options in ROPs enabled to render with the network it doesn't use the render nodes?

Hi, thank you.

When I enable network rendering in the ROP - that session connects to the node and it's great. But then I submit the houdini scene to deadline, using their plugin, and that instance of the scene doesn't establish a connection to the node.

In the C4D plugin there is an option to "enable steal" in the Octane network preferences, and that would fix this behavior, but it doesn't appear as an option in the Houdini plugin.
