Hi, how do I create Octane proxy in Houdini so I can read it in 3ds Max?

Hi,

You can export the Houdini scene to an .orbx file using the export options available in the Octane ROP node. If the max plugin can't read this archive directly, perhaps you could need to edit it in the Standalone to isolate the object nodes, removing all the other scene information.

Thanks,

What I mean is that Octane for 3ds max has a proxy *.octprx and it is possible to see it in a viewport. Is that file format possible to generate with Houdini? Thank you

Perhaps we are talking about the same files but with a different extension. You should ask this in the max forum because I'm not aware of how this plugin supports the proxy files feature.

Thanks,

It has the orbx option as well just that one is not visible in the viewport so it is not very useful. I will ask them as well. Thank you.
