Sign out issue

Hi,

How can I sign out and deactivate the Houdini plugin on a computer? If I click "Sign out," it tells me that it "Failed to deactivate all licenses used on this computer: Other instances of Octane are still running..."

Best wishes,
Thomas

A license gets deactivated automatically when you close the host application running Octane .

Signing out means you are intending to close your user's session on that machine as a part of which all licenses need to be deactivated. If there is either Standalone or other instances of Octane running, either Houdini or any other DCC application they you should see that message, make sure no Octane instances are running if this is what you intend.

Hi,
Should it be that way?
I had to restart my comp to be able to signout in Houdini. Normally, when using Carrara, it signs out automatically, but Houdini didn't do that...
Best wishes,
Thomas

Great to see you got it working.

Sometimes if the host application is hanging after being closed (check the windows task manager) the license may not be released, which will also not allow signing out, which is likely what happened to you.
